The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors is expanding its long-term care planning support services.

The group announced Monday in Las Vegas, at the Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance (ILTCI) Conference,  that it will be starting a web-based NAIFA Center for Excellence in Long Term Care.

The center will provide LTC education resources for agents and advisors who want to help clients plan for future LTC needs, and cope with current LTC needs, NAIFA says.

Carroll Golden, who served on ILTCI's eecutive board for 17 years, will be the center's director.

NAIFA plans to get the center up and running later this year.

The center will offer videos, webinars, infographics and articles, NAIFA says.

The content will cover stand-alone long-term care insurance (LTCI), life and annuity products that offer LTC benefits, short-term care insurance, critical illness insurance, reverse mortgages, claim management, senior housing options and robotics, NAIFA says.

NAIFA will support the general and administrative activities of the LTC Center, and sponsors will underwrite additional development and maintenance costs.

Certification for Long Term Care will be a founding sponsor of the center.

Kevin Mayeux, NAIFA's chief executive officer, said in a statement that Golden will position the center to serve as a critical resource for the industry.

Golden has a bachelor's degree from the Sorbonne. She helped start the stand-alone LTCI program at LifeSecure Insurance Company. She later worked as a senior sales and marketing executive at Transamerica's LTCI unit. She began working to set up NAIFA's LTC center in October.
