This year's diversity scholarship recipients are:
- Kathleen Boyd, a Ph.D. student at Kansas State University specializing in financial planning and therapy, a leader of the FPA of Orange County, California, and founder of Long Beach Financial Planning Day;
- Roger Ma, CFP, founder of Lifelaidout, LLC, in New York, active in pro bono financial planning and with programs offered and supported by the FPA of New York.
- Divam Mehta, CFP, ChFC, president of Mehta Financial Group in Richmond, Virginia; and a leader in the Indian-American community where he is also providing pro bono support and education.
The FPA's Diversity Scholarship Program is sponsored by the group's Diversity Committee, which aims to "develop strategies to raise awareness and promote inclusiveness of diverse communities" in financial planning.
