Members of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions are about to kick off a series of four hearings on stabilizing the individual major medical insurance market around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., the chairman of the Senate HELP Committee, and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., the highest-ranking Democrat, are hoping the hearings will lead to legislation that will keep the U.S. individual major medical market functioning in 2018.
Here's a list of the hearings scheduled, and the types of witnesses expected to speak at those hearings:

10 a.m. EDT Sept. 6: State insurance commissioners.

9 a.m. EDT Sept. 7: Governors.

10 a.m. Sept. 12: Advocates for state flexibility.

10 a.m. Sept. 14: Health care stakeholders.
