Members of the Life Insurance Settlement Association elected Jim Maxson chairman last weekend at the association's annual conference in Orlando, Florida.

Maxson is a partner at Culhane Meadows PLLC in Atlanta.

Maxson worked for four years as an executive at a life settlement provider. He has served on the LISA board, and he has also served as deputy chair of the European Life Settlement Association.

Maxson understands the perspective of investment funds that buy blocks of life settlement business as well as the perspective of the companies that buy life insurance policies from the consumer. He has represented Luxembourg-based funds in life settlement portfolio acquisitions, according to his Culhane Meadows biography.

LISA members also elected Shari Townsend to be vice chair; Vince Granieri, treasurer; and John McFarland, secretary.
