Recruiting Roundup: Raymond James, RBC Wealth Add Teams in West

Raymond James Financial Services—the firm's independent broker-dealer channel—has welcomed a team in Scottsdale, Arizona. Jackson/Roskelley Wealth Advisors, Inc., which manages $180 million in client assets and has annual revenue of some $1.8 million.

The team includes financial advisors Robert Jackson, Jared Roskelley, Barbara Sutton, Greg Stark, Darin Shebesta, Mike Cupell, Debra Brough and Conrad Roskelley, and formerly was affiliated with Cambridge Investment Research.

"We are delighted to welcome this exceptional team to our independent channel," Bill Counsman, western regional director for RJFS, said in a statement. He added, "After meeting with them, it was clear they would be a great addition to the firm, as their client-first approach, integrity and guiding principles align with those of Raymond James. We are very happy they chose to partner with us as they continue to build and grow their practice with our broad platform and support."

Also, RBC Wealth Management added a team of advisors to its Pueblo, Colorado branch. The Gryphon Group, with financial advisors Jim Murray and Ryan Griego, formerly with Morgan Stanley, joined with about $238 million in client assets under management and annual production of $1.3 million.

"We are thrilled to welcome a team of the Gryphon Group's caliber to our Pueblo office," Jeri Larrinaga, director of the Pueblo branch, said in a statement. Larrinaga added, "Their knowledge and experience, as well as their focus on providing superior client service, make them great additions to our firm."

In addition, independent broker-dealer Triad Advisors, which is owned by Ladenburg Thalmann Financial (LTS), announced that Dunham & Deitel Wealth Management Group is now using Triad's BD and hybrid multi-custodial registered investment advisory platform. Dunham & Deitel brings $155 million in commission- and fee-based advisory client assets, as of May 10.

Based in Johnson City, Tennessee, Dunham & Deitel are affiliated with Triad through specialty RIA Triad Hybrid Solutions and have three advisors: founders Bill Dunham and Barbara Deitel and advisor Matthew Deitel.

"[W]e are pleased to have a multi-custodial advisory structure that will enable us to provide our clients with a full range of high-quality investment choices that are most appropriate for helping them to achieve their financial planning goals," Barbara Deitel said in a statement.

Brent Moore moved up at Soltis Investment Advisors, being named partner in the Salt Lake City office where he has been since 2013. Before joining Soltis, Moore was a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at Key Bank.

Minneapolis-based Nepsis Capital Management welcomed Joseph DeZiel to its home office as a senior wealth advisor and vice president of practice management. Prior to joining, DeZiel served as a senior portfolio manager for BlackRock, Inc., US Bancorp Private Client Reserve, and Wells Fargo Private Client Group.

Scott Schmidt has joined Noyes' Wealth Management Group and will be based at the firm's Elgin, Illinois office. Prior to joining, he served as investment executive at Fifth Third Securities, Inc.; he will continue as founding partner at Schmidt & Lerner, LLC, an Elgin-based law firm specializing in estate planning.

Investment platform Artivest has announced that Clayton Cheek has joined as director of business development. Cheek was previously senior vice president of marketing at Chesapeake Capital Corp.
