According to this entrepreneur and author, going it alone in business and finding success may have more to do with lifestyle and mindset than strategy.
"Being an 'entrepreneur' doesn't mean starting the next Facebook," says Altucher, whose published works include, "The Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth" (CreateSpace Independent Publishing, 2015). "It means finding the challenges you have in your life, and determining creative ways to overcome those challenges."
He adds that some of the world's wealthiest and best-known entrepreneurs exhibit the following qualities:
-
- They believe in their dreams. Entrepreneurs often prioritize worthwhile business risks above security.
- They exhibit selflessness. Those who set their sights on fame and success as a business trailblazer rarely achieve it. Success happens for people who put their clients' needs ahead of their own, according to Altucher.
- They value education. Successful entrepreneurs tend to be lifelong learners, even when they sidestep traditional four-year college degree programs. They value others who share their reverence for information-driven innovation.
