Organizers of Melody Health, a new Denver-based health insurer, say the company will start out by selling health coverage in Las Vegas and Cheyenne, Wyo., this fall.

Melody will then expand into two additional markets every year, the company says.

Eduardo Cruz, the president of ARS Humana S.A., a health insurance company in the Dominican Republic, and Sal Gentile, a former client relationship manager at TriZetto, a health care computer systems company, announced the launch of the company in December.

Cruz and Gentile said at the time that the company will focus on selling value-priced health coverage to individual consumers.

Organizers say on the company's website that Melody Health is "a new kind of health care company."

"You will receive quality health care, based on your personal needs, without all the hassle," the company says.

The website also says that the company has hired Tom Zumtobel as president of the Western markets, Bill Bakken as the executive vice president for services and operations, and Tracy Faigin as the chief marketing officer.

Zumtobel has been president of the Culinary Health Fund, chief executive officer of the Nevada Health CO-OP, and CEO of Meritus Health Plans.

Bakken has been a senior vice president for services at TriZetto. Faigin was the chief marketing officer at Colorado Health CO-OP.
