Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) RetireUp Adds Modeling Capabilities

Web-based retirement scenario platform RetireUp expanded its modeling capabilities to include illustrations of fixed index annuities (FIAs) from Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America within its client retirement income models.

The computer-based modeling system allows financial professionals to present a more complete visual presentation of their clients' retirement income strategies using defined income (Social Security, variable annuities, fixed index annuities, pensions) and other assets.

2) Guardian Adding Managed Account QDIA

The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company introduced a new managed account qualified default investment alternative (QDIA) option for participants in small retirement plans through independent investment advisor Brinker Capital, Inc.

Brinker Capital Destinations is a collective investment trust solution featuring five professionally managed risk-based portfolios, offering investment strategies ranging from conservative to aggressive that offer a blend of mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Each portfolio utilizes a multi-asset class approach and targets a specific investment objective.

3) Orion Advisor Services Now Available on Schwab OpenView Gateway

Orion Advisor Services, a portfolio accounting service provider for financial advisors, is now a participating provider in Schwab OpenView Gateway, the platform that allows integration between Charles Schwab custody systems and participating technology providers.

The Orion integration in OpenView Gateway allows advisors to view their clients' Schwab account balances, documents, asset positions, account owner profiles and transactions in real time within the Orion Connect platform. Advisors will also receive alerts from Schwab through the Orion integration and they will be able to request money movement through the Orion platform.

4) AssetMark, MyVest Partner on Platform

AssetMark has partnered with MyVest to develop a goals-based wealth management platform for financial advisors. The planned next-generation platform and user interface will provide advisors an investor-ready visualization of portfolios with a more holistic approach to investing.

5) Stanford Law School, Sullivan & Cromwell Launch FCPAC

Stanford Law School and law firm Sullivan & Cromwell launched the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Clearinghouse (FCPAC), a public database that aggregates and curates source documents and provides analytic tools related to enforcement of the act.

Users can search and sort data about FCPA enforcement actions according to their individual needs and interests. They can view original documents, access relevant laws and precedent and read articles about FCPA compliance and enforcement.

6) PreciseFP, Veres Announce Marketing Tool for Advisors

Cloud-based document vault solution and forms creation tool provider PreciseFP and Bob Veres, publisher of the Inside Information newsletter, have developed Financial Personalities, a "pre-engagement engagement" marketing tool for financial advisors.

Financial Personalities is a self-discovery questionnaire where prospective clients can learn more about themselves and how they relate to money, with two goals: to raise the percentage of visitors to an advisor's website who schedule an appointment and to increase the percentage of those prospects who ultimately become clients.
