The women's affiliate of UsAgainstAlzheimer's is holding a fundraising dinner in Washington Sept. 30 and a briefing on Capitol Hill Oct. 1.
Organizers of the events say the affiliate, WomenAgainstAlzheimer's, will announce a global "We won't wait" campaign. The affiliate hopes to use the campaign to rally supporters around the world to help take the steps needed to come up with a cure for Alzheimer's.
At the dinner, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is expected to present an award to Sen. Barbara Mikulski. The dinner emcee will be Diane Rehm of NPR.
At the briefing on Thursday, the list of scheduled speakers includes Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-West Va.
