Mobile applications (or "apps" for short) can make day-to-day interaction easier and more efficient — particularly in business.

With more than a million smartphone apps out there, it can be hard to find the ones truly worth using, so we've compiled a list of our 10 favorite business apps. As a bonus, most of the apps we like the best are free!

Evernote lets you take notes and sync files across devices. While it's not the only app of this kind, it's our favorite, because Evernote acts as a one-stop shop. We love how easy it is to make a checklist of things to do for a particular project, and the ability to make comments on saved files, too.

Hootsuite is a social media management system that can be used to collaboratively execute campaigns across multiple social networks from one secure, web-based (or app-based) dashboard. Hootsuite not only helps you stay on track with your social media management – the dashboard also offers a robust analytics report module.

Buffer is also a social media management tool. The difference is that while Hootsuite focuses its features on the ability to access a variety of accounts with in-depth metrics and a pre-schedule feature, Buffer makes it incredibly easy to schedule them so that they drip out at the perfect time for the specific network.

LinkedIn Connected is a fast, easy and smarter way to strengthen your professional relationships. Connected gives you relevant updates about people you know, alerts you when to reach out, provides notifications on job changes, work anniversaries and more. It allows you to invest in your connections for opportunities in the future.

Sign-n-Send makes it easier to do business on the road. Developers use a cutting-edge app technology that makes it simple to sign legal documents with your finger on an iOS device and instantly send via email. Not only can you sign and modify a PDF on the go, you can also access it from desktop programs such as Mail and Safari.

CamScanner turns your mobile device into a scanner with the click of a button. Simply take a photo of a document and the technology converts it into a digital file that you can send electronically. Even better, CamScanner recognizes the text contained in the document so that you can easily search for it later.

EasilyDo acts as a personal assistant by alerting you of important events taking place in the lives of your social connections. You'll receive notifications for birthdays, job changes and posts that are gaining significant engagement such as the birth of a child or graduations. You can even comment directly within the app.

WingUp is the app for location-based professional networking. Discover your business contacts nearby and see who's in town, view your LinkedIn network by city, company or industry and scan who you know or should know at conferences and events. Never miss an opportunity to connect and expand your network.

Pocket allows you to save articles, videos webpages and more for later. All of your content goes to one place, so you can view it anytime, on any device. The best part is that you don't need an internet connection. Pocket is perfect for busy travelers, commutes or long layovers.

DropBox lets you bring all your photos, docs and videos anywhere and share them easily. Access any file you save to your Dropbox from all your computers, smartphone and web. If anything happens to your computer or smart-phone, all of your important documents, favorite memories and videos are always safe.
