Top Portfolio Products: RS Investments Launches 2 Alt Funds

New products and changes introduced over the last week include two funds from RS Investments; an ETF from ArrowShares; a long/short fund from Collins Capital; three ETFs from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management; and the addition of Zions Bancorporation's wealth management programs to LPL Financial's institutional services platform.

Also, City of London Investment Management announced an ESG initiative with Sustainalytics aimed at closed-end funds; FinaMetric announced a collaboration with MacroRisk Analytics; RCM Alternatives announced that it will be combining with Attain Capital Management; W&S Financial Group Distributors, Inc. announced the launch of a variable annuity rider; and E-Valuator introduced a Web-based software solution.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) RS Investments Launches Two Funds

RS Investments announced the launch of two long/short alternative mutual funds: the RS Focused Opportunity Fund (RSFOX) and the RS Focused Growth Opportunity Fund (RSFGX). Rick Brandt will oversee the funds as long/short portfolio manager.

RSFOX looks to invest in companies that demonstrate attractive relative valuations, strong and stable growth, increasing return on invested capital and improving market sentiment.

RSFGX invests in companies that produce sustainable earnings growth over a multiyear horizon and exhibit strong organic revenue growth, expanding margins and profitability, innovative products or services, defensible competitive advantages, growing market share and experienced management teams.

2) ArrowShares Adds ETF

Arrow Investment Advisors, LLC, the advisor to Arrow Funds, has announced the launch of the Arrow QVM Equity Factor ETF (QVM), part of its ArrowShares lineup.

QVM is based on the Arrow Insights Quality Value Momentum Index (AIQVM), and represents an equally-weighted portfolio of 50 stocks that simultaneously demonstrate strong quality, value and momentum characteristics.

3) Collins Capital Launches Long/Short Fund

Collins Capital has announced the launch of the Collins Long/Short Credit Fund (CLCAX). The fund is subadvised by Pinebank Asset Management, LP.

CCLIX attempts to generate absolute returns over a complete market cycle by primarily investing in a portfolio of long and short investments in credit-related securities with active management of net exposure.

4) Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management Adds Three ETFs

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management has announced the addition of three ETFs, the Deutsche X-trackers Investment Grade Bond–Interest Rate Hedged ETF (IGIH), Deutsche X-trackers High Yield Corporate Bond–Interest Rate Hedged ETF (HYIH) and Deutsche X-trackers Emerging Markets Bond–Interest Rate Hedged ETF (EMIH).

The ETFs provide investors with exposure to U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade, high-yield corporate and emerging markets sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt.

5) LPL Adds Zions Wealth Management Programs

LPL Financial has announced the addition of Zions Bancorporation's wealth management programs to its institutional services platform.

Zions provides wealth management services under the local names of eight subsidiary banking institutions.

6) City of London Investment Management Launches ESG Initiative

City of London Investment Management (CLIM) has announced a program using Sustainalytics environmental, social and governance (ESG) awareness in emerging market investment trusts and closed-end funds.

CLIM's intention is to encourage closed-end fund investment managers to be more explicit about how ESG considerations are integrated into their investment processes, thereby participating in the expected superior returns emanating from the performance of these securities as ESG factors become more material to total returns. At the beginning of March, CLIM will begin presentations with investment consultants and clients to update them on this initiative.

7) FinaMetrica, MacroRisk Analytics Collaborate

Risk tolerance assessment tool provider FinaMetrica has announced a collaboration with MacroRisk Analytics that will allow advisors to directly link a client's risk tolerance score, as measured by FinaMetrica, to MacroRisk's portfolio allocation testing capabilities.

The newly combined solution will be available to FinaMetrica's and MacroRisk's clients starting June 30.

8) RCM Alternatives, Attain Capital Management to Join Forces

RCM Alternatives has announced that it has entered into an agreement to join forces with Attain Capital Management, acquiring its fund offerings, education, research and database assets while bringing its principals and employees under the RCM umbrella.  RCM will also acquire Attain Portfolio Advisors, LLC, a registered commodity pool operator and manager of a family of privately offered, commodity-based alternative investment funds through www.AttainFunds.com.

Both Chicago-based companies specialize in pairing high-net-worth individuals, investment advisors and institutional investors with commodity-focused managed futures investments through separately managed accounts and private funds.

9) W&S Financial Group Distributors Launches VA Rider

W&S Financial Group Distributors, Inc., the wholesale distributor of annuities and life insurance from member companies of Western & Southern Financial Group, has announced the launch of a variable annuity living benefit rider, Guaranteed Lifetime Income Advantage (GLIA) Plus.

GLIA Plus is an optional guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit (GLWB) offered with AnnuiChoice and Pinnacle VAs issued by Integrity Life Insurance Company and National Integrity Insurance Company. It is available at issue for an added annual charge.

10) E-Valuator Introduces Investment Management Software

The E-Valuator, LLC has introduced Web-based investment management software designed to mitigate fiduciary liability through customizing tolerance settings specific to each investor's demands and expectations.

The tool, which can be customized for a wide array of clients, allows advisors to structure and manage an investment portfolio built upon each investor's unique preferences as they relate to risk management characteristics, lagging performance duration, timeframe priorities, and more.
