4) ETF Securities Adds Smart Beta Funds

ETF Securities has announced the launch of the ETFS Diversified-Factor U.S. Large Cap Index Fund (SBUS) and the ETFS Diversified-Factor Developed Europe Index Fund (SBEU).

The funds are based on Scientific Beta's multifactor, multistrategy indexes, which select stocks based on low volatility, valuation, momentum and size and use a proprietary weighting strategy to enhance the diversification. The objective is to provide better risk-adjusted performances than other established benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and Stoxx Europe 600.

5) Columbia Management Launches Liquid Alternative Mutual Fund

Columbia Management has announced the launch of the Columbia Adaptive Alternatives Fund (CLAAX). The fund is managed by Jeffrey Knight, William Landes and Marc Khalamayzer.

6) Advent Launches Next Generation of Black Diamond Platform

Advent Software, Inc. has announced the launch of the next generation of its Black Diamond wealth management platform. The release includes a revamped investor portal that can be customized for each client and delivered through a Web browser, tablet, phone or other mobile device. Communications tools help advisors connect with clients to support relationships.

Advisors can notify clients about new files added to the vault or share summary-level highlights, as well as be able to post reports, financial planning documents, market commentary and forms for clients to sign and return. Integrated data querying capabilities also enable advisors to proactively notify clients about important action items or news, such as the availability of a new 1099, a reminder to make an IRA contribution, or messages to let clients know when action is being taken to mitigate risk in cases of exposure to a particular holding.

7) Croesus Integrates with Quovo

Portfolio management and CRM provider Croesus Solutions Inc. has announced its integration with account aggregation provider Quovo.

Quovo is handling both advisors' direct custodial feeds as well as "held-away" account data from other institutions, and will manage all aspects of the data feeds, including detailed data normalization and automated reconciliation.
