Each September, Life Insurance Awareness Month provides the ideal opportunity to clear up a host of consumer misconceptions about life insurance, including the size of death benefit needed (it's often too low), the need to extend coverage beyond what your employer provides (it's rarely enough) and the need to communicate the details of your policy to your beneficiaries (no one else will).
