The Council for Disability Awareness (CDA) has picked Carol Harnett to succeed Barry Lundquist as president. Harnett started out as a physiologist.
She is on the board of Disabled Sports USA and participates in that group's Warfighter Sports program. In 2008, she helped organize an insurer-employer effort to help soldiers returning from tours of duty in locations such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
Earlier this year, Harnett was the conference chair for a prevention and wellness conference in San Diego. She has worked as the national disability and life practice leader at the Hartford (NYSE:HIG) and the director of resources and rehabilitation services at Prudential (NYSE:PRU).
