When Dr. Larry Barton became president of The American College in 2003, the institution was, in his words, "running out of runway." A huge shift needed to be shaped to keep the college in business. Utilizing his extensive academic experience, as well as his corporate proficiency in crisis management, Dr. Barton restructured the college's physical facility, faculty and curriculum.
In this episode, Dr. Barton explains how an open, honest and transparent dialog helped to shape the shift in the system-wide transformation that was required. He discusses new designations as well as new Masters and Doctoral programs. We also explore new pathways the college is using to deliver financial services education so that financial and benefits practitioners can continue to serve an ever-changing clientele.
