You may already know that it's important to optimize your LinkedIn profile. But your presence on other platforms may also need optimizing. Take, for example, Twitter, where many of your prospects can be found.
According to Business Insider, "The fastest growing demographic on Twitter is the 55-64 year age bracket." Because of the sheer number of companies currently on Twitter, it is important to stand out against the crowd.
So before you start tackling that in-depth Twitter marketing campaign or paying to promote your tweets, make sure you have your bases covered. Here's a checklist for optimizing your Twitter profile:
1. Location and website. Be sure to include your physical location, as this dramatically increases your searchability and will also help you connect with your local community. Include a web URL where people can go to learn more about your brand.
2. Header image. Your profile avatar is the first visual element your prospect sees, while this is most likely the second. According to some estimates, 75 percent of active users use Twitter on a mobile device, where a header image appears as the background. Use an image that represents your brand, but keep it simple. If there is too much going on, the viewer may struggle to read the bio on top of it. We suggest dark or muted images.
