Also, ING U.S. Investment Management announced the promotion of Amir Sahibzada; Carson Wealth Management elected Steve Lockshin to its executive board; Cetera announced the appointment of Mukesh Mehta as chief information officer, along with several new hires; and New York Life said it planned to hire 3,600 new financial representatives in 2014.
Mehta Named CIO at Cetera; New Hires Announced
Cetera Financial Group has made a number of personnel announcements. Mukesh Mehta has joined as chief information officer. Leda Csanka, previously senior vice president and CIO, will move into the newly created role of chief technology officer and report to Mehta. In addition, Mohan Gurupackiam, Derek Gledhill and Sandy Coffey have joined the company's technology team as vice president, head of applications, delivery & operations; senior director, advisor workstations; and head of IT finance and governance, respectively.
Prior to joining, Mehta served as managing director and CIO, institutional, for TD Ameritrade, where he led application development services supporting all of the firm's institutional business. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Charles Schwab & Co., where he served in progressively senior technology leadership positions. Most recently, he served as senior vice president & head of IT, Schwab Institutional, product development and technology.
Gurupackiam's experience includes nearly 14 years at E*Trade Financial Corp., where he served most recently as director, software engineering. Gledhill has spent more than 20 years in the financial services industry, and held the position of vice president, broker workstation, advice and wealth management at Ameriprise Financial prior to joining Cetera. Coffey comes to the company from American Honda Motor Co., where she served as an IT executive for American Honda Finance Corp./Honda Canada Finance Inc.
Sallet Joins Dynasty Financial Partners
Dynasty Financial Partners announced that it has hired Ron Sallet as senior vice president of network development. He will report to Shirl Penney, president and CEO.
Sallet joins Dynasty from Wells Fargo's independent channel, FiNet, where for the last four years he was a managing director, co-leading their branch development and marketing team. He joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2007. Earlier, he worked at Citigroup/Smith Barney for 14 years, where most recently he was SVP, director of financial services groups in New York at Citigroup Global Markets. Prior to that role, he held a variety of field positions, including financial advisor, national training officer, assistant branch manager and branch office manager.
Securities America Announces Officer Promotions
Securities America announced that it has promoted David Vaughan to senior vice president and chief financial officer and John Behn to first vice president.
Vaughan joined in 1994, and has worked progressively larger roles in accounting and finance during his career at the company. By 2012 as first vice president, he was overseeing all financial analysis, reporting, accounting operations and internal audits. In 2013, he was promoted to vice president of finance and joined the executive leadership team.
Behn joined nine months ago as the national director of recruiting. Prior to joining, he was a senior vice president with Aegon and Transamerica where he led multiple national sales teams.
Baird Promotes Kovics
Baird Private Wealth Management announced the promotion of Jarrett Kovics to regional director. In his new role, he will oversee the firm's wealth management offices in the western region, which includesTexas,Arizona,Oregon and California. He is based in theDallasoffice.
