Analyst eyeballs Medicare Advantage numbers
Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) and Aetna Inc. (NYSE:AET) may still be expanding Medicare Advantage enrollment.
Humana may have increased enrollment 9 percent, or 220,000 lives, during the annual election period, and Aetna may have increased enrollment 5 percent, or 55,000 lives, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Andrew Schenker.
Schenker based those estimates on preliminary data that enrollment decisions made through Dec. 4, three days before the close of the annual election period.
