‘Something for everyone to dislike’ in budget deal

Washington has done what has not been seen for some time: A bipartisan-accepted budget deal reached before the government was forced to shut down. It might not be the "grand bargain" previous negotiators attempted to achieve, but much was gained from everyone giving a little.
