Who does your physician work for?

Thirty years ago, more than three-quarters of U.S. physicians were self-employed. Today, the percentage is less than half. Advancing technology, increased regulation burdens, and a push by hospitals to acquire physicians are just some of the decreasing number of self-employed physicians. The concern for some is that the decrease in competition will allow hospitals to increase prices.
