Childhood maltreatment can leaves scars in the brain

A team from the University of Wisconsin has found that maltreatment during childhood can lead to extensive and long-term changes in the brain that can easily breed anxiety and depression disorders in the future. Maltreatment, for the purposes of the study was defined as both physical and emotional abuse that ranged from both mild to severe.
