No debt deal yet, but hopes rise after ‘constructive’ talks

It appears the American people, and the global community for that matter, have low expectations regarding the efficacy of the United States government. A collective sigh was released and contained applause dished out to both Democrats and Republicans just for sitting down and talking to each other. With the government shut down for 11 days and the debt-ceiling rapidly approaching, we need to set the standard higher than cordial talk.
