Tough choices for mothers and kids

For all of the bluster about the government shutdown having no impact on "essential service," mothers who get WIC nutrition assistance from the federal government could see that program's funding run out in about a week. That could put some of the 9 million mothers across the country who depend on it into serious financial peril.
