CNO Financial Group Inc. has named Scott Goldberg president of Bankers Life and Casualty Company, the unit that sells long-term care insurance (LTCI).

Previously, Goldberg was vice president of sales for Bankers Life's south central territory.

Scott Perry has been both president of Bankers Life and chief officer at the parent company,

Perry is handing the Bankers Life president title to Goldberg to get more time to focus on improving customer service, marketing and distribution at the parent-company level, CNO said.

CNO hired Goldberg in 2004.

Goldberg has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in business from the University of Michigan. He holds the Certified Public Accountant professional designation.

Before going to work for CNO, he was an auditor at Arthur Andersen, a strategic planner at CNA Financial Corp. and managing director of the development group at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
