The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) will honor a Raleigh, N.C., planner who sells disability insurance and long-term care insurance (LTCI) at the next realLIFEstories awards presentation.

LIFE will recognize the planner, Joe Grabar, along with three other professionals at a ceremony Oct. 1 at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Grabar sold personal disability insurance, LTCI and business overhead expense coverage to Tim Meredith, a pastor who left the clergy and struck out on his own to start a technology business.

Six months later, Meredith suffered two strokes as a result of an aneurysm.

The policies have helped Meredith's family and business keep going while he has been recovering, LIFE says.

LIFE also is recognizing three sellers of life insurance.

LIFE developed the realLIFEstories program to help show consumers and their insurance advisors why insurance matters.
