New products introduced over the last week include a new free Web-based 401(k) advisory service for consumers from CoPiloted and a new Quantified Funds family from Flexible Plan Investments.

In addition, Advent and Schwab announced a collaborative effort to allow the former's Black Diamond platform to integrate with the latter's OpenView Gateway.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) Schwab Advisor Center data now accessible within Advent's Black Diamond

Thanks to a collaboration between Advent Software (ADVS) and Charles Schwab (SCHW), advisors can now access specific intraday data from Schwab's Advisor Center within Advent's Black Diamond platform. The Black Diamond portfolio management, reporting and rebalancing platform has been successfully integrated with Schwab's OpenView Gateway so that the availability of custodial data has been extended to include intraday information, account profiles, reports, and operational alerts to streamline clients' daily workflows.

In addition to this integration, clients using other Advent solutions and accessing data feeds through Charles Schwab and Advent Custodial Data will now experience a higher level of data quality and an improved user experience with a new version of the interface.

2) CoPiloted Launches Free 401(k) Advisory Service

CoPiloted, a new Web-based financial services startup located in Boston and Seattle, has launched its free 401(k) advisory service. The CoPiloted service helps users make intelligent investment decisions in their 401(k), 403(b), IRA and other retirement accounts. The free service makes it easy for consumers to provide information about themselves, their financial situation, and their retirement plans, and then receive a personalized investment recommendation.

Each CoPiloted recommendation combines users' individual needs, their specific plan options and constraints, and recent market conditions, with recent advances in investment research. Users can regularly visit www.copiloted.com to get updated recommendations on how to adjust their accounts to incorporate changes in market conditions and in their personal situation, while adhering to plan rules and minimizing fees. In addition, there is no need to move an account to use the service.

3) Flexible Plan Investments Launches the Quantified Funds Family

Flexible Plan Investments, Ltd. has launched the Quantified Funds family, which consists of the Quantified All Cap Equity Fund (QACFX), Quantified Alternative Investment Fund (QALTX), Quantified Managed Bond Fund (QBDSX), and Quantified Market Leaders Fund (QMLFX). Flexible Plan made the strategic decision to dissolve the Evolution Funds the firm previously managed and create a new fund group with a more competitive fee structure and greater growth potential.

The four funds currently available closely mirror their predecessor funds under the similar Evolution Fund names. Each fund's investment objective and purchase requirements are nearly identical to those of its predecessor fund. Flexible Plan's previous management has enabled the firm to successfully transfer nearly all of the Evolution Funds' assets into the Quantified Funds. The funds seek to generate high appreciation on an annual basis consistent with a high tolerance for risk.
