Ducks were bird flu ‘melting pot’

What played a prominent role in the global pandemic scare, and the resultant 43 deaths and 133 human cases of bird flu? Ducks. Ducks picked up the virus and in turn passed it on to chickens. This is the finding of a team of researchers from Shantou University Medical Center that could potentially help scientists understand how the virus morphs and travels.
