PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island's dominant insurer is partnering with Walgreens to educate consumers about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and how to access health insurance under it.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island and the pharmacy chain are doing a joint education campaign on PPACA. Residents will be able to access information at Walgreens about the law and how to purchase coverage, including through new online marketplaces, or exchanges.

Individuals and small businesses in Rhode Island will be able to shop for and buy insurance through a state-run exchange, HealthSource RI.

Many Americans will be able to qualify for subsidies through the exchanges.
