Another Web-based health broker is moving to join the public exchange distribution team.
GoHealth.com inked a Web broker entity agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The agreement paves the way for the company to get access to the exchange data hub, the computer system set to be the brain of the exchange program eligibility verification process.
Other confirmed Web brokers include Health Inc., Getinsured.com and Towers Watson.
To actually sell federal exchange plans, GoHealth.com also must sign a federal exchange Web broker agreement with CMS, and it must meet other requirements, such as state licensing requirements.
GoHealth.com has only talked about selling individual exchange plans. The company hasn't discussed selling Small Business Health Options Plan products.
GoHealth.com said it also hopes to offer plans from the district-based exchange in the District of Columbia and the state-based exchanges in the 14 states setting up state-based exchanges.
