Right now, it typically costs $1,000 to $4,000 to map out an individual's genome. Entrepreneurs and scientists are trying to get that figure down to just $1oo. Finding out if you are predisposed to certain illnesses can have tremendous health benefits for the more than nine billion people on the planet. The company that can figure out how to sequence the human genome at an affordable price stands to make a lot of money.
