With epilepsy treatment, the goal is to keep kids seizure-free

Epilepsy as more than one disorder? The new thinking is that this well-known and often times benign affliction is not benign at all. Fairly new drugs — which came about in the 90s — are now being aggressively used to treat children who have experienced more than one "unprovoked" seizure. The new drugs are being used so widely because they do not have the side effects that seizure medication was notorious for.
