Experiment brings human cloning one step closer

Researchers from Oregon Health and Science University have announced that they were able to clone embryonic stem cells that are genetically identical to the person from which they are derived. The hope is that these cells can go into various tissues in the human body to work against any number of ailments. As always, the development brings along for the ride a barrel full of controversy but scientists and medical professionals are watching closely, hoping that a perfected process will quiet critics.
