This year at Insite, Pershing's much-buzzed-about annual conference, the financial business solutions provider will introduce the newest, mobile-friendly version of its NetX360 platform for advisors.
Already available through the Apple iTunes App Store, NetX360 Mobile Version 3.0.19 was updated on iTunes on April 16 and can be used on a wide variety of devices, including the iPhone, Android, iPad, BlackBerry and Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. Three years ago, Pershing was the first of the major custodians to introduce mobile applications for advisors, shortly after Apple introduced the iPad.
Insite 2013, to be held June 5-7 at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla., will provide a forum for new NetX360 Mobile users to learn more about the updated platform. (In addition, keynote speakers include Hillary Rodham Clinton and Peyton Manning among other luminaries.)
$2 Billion Tech Budget
A BNY Mellon company, Pershing leverages the deep pockets of its parent firm in a way that many competitors can't match. A significant portion of BNY Mellon's $2 billion technology budget goes to Pershing, and those funds give Pershing the freedom to conduct extensive research and development projects via a team of 40 professionals in a usability testing lab, according to Co-Chief Information Officers Lucille Mayer and Ram Nagappan.
"The way we implement technology is different from other financial services firms," Mayer said in April during an interview and tour of the testing lab at Pershing's offices. "The differentiator is our extensive product management, including face-to-face conversations between intermediaries and advisors."
Mayer and Nagappan were named to Computerworld's 2013 Premier 100 IT Leaders list earlier this year.
