National Association of Financial Advisors (NAPFA)The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors announced Wednesday that the fee-only financial planning group has named NAPFA's "30 Most Influential People" as the group marks its 30-year history.

The "30 Most Influential" program recognizes NAPFA members and staff who have made an impact on fee-only financial planning, the group and their peers since NAPFA's founding in 1983. Nominees were offered by members, who then put the nominations to a vote. NAPFA, which has more than 2,500 members nationwide, prides itself on setting some of the strictest guidelines possible for professional competency, comprehensive financial planning and fee-only compensation.

Lauren Locker, NAPFA Chair"Each of the honored helped create NAPFA's rich history through their contributions to the industry and dedication to the fee-only philosophy," said NAPFA Chairwoman Lauren Locker, CFP (left), in a statement. "While this recognition program could have easily acknowledged many more people, the members voted and provided us a wonderful cross-section of people who have made NAPFA a strong and growing organization."

The 30 Most Influential includes people of diverse backgrounds, including solo practitioners, principals in large firms, past NAPFA chairs and elected leaders. All honorees will be acknowledged at the awards banquets at the 2013 NAPFA Spring Conference in Las Vegas from May 7 through 10 and the 2013 NAPFA Fall Conference in Philadelphia from Oct. 8 through 11.
