Alternative investments provider Altegris has found an alternative way to deliver its message to advisors and their clients.
Altegris this month launched a series of animated videos addressing key questions that investors frequently ask about alternative investments. The La Jolla, Calif.-based firm's educational programs recently won the firm a CAIA award for corporate excellence and leadership in alternative education.
Six Altegris videos are currently available in the series. The initial release provides an animated introduction to myths and misconceptions about alternatives, another gives an animated overview on the importance of diversification and another explains why performance dispersion matters when constructing a portfolio. The remaining videos cover the Altegris research and investment process, how to use a multimanager open architecture approach to investing and the fees associated with hedge funds or other alternatives.
"As a pioneer and leader in providing access to what are believed to be best-of-breed alternative managers, Altegris has a longstanding commitment to advisor and client education on alternatives," said Jon Sundt, president and chief executive of Altegris, in a statement. "These storytelling animated videos are yet another step on the path we've paved to better inform and help investors in the construction of diversified portfolios."
