In America, 15 million text messages are sent every minute. One can only imagine how many emails are sent every minute, yet, only 10 percent of us have emailed or sent a text to our doctor. Confidentiality is a concern, but the main reason we have poor electronic access to our doctors is because they don't have a system to accommodate that kind of communication with patients. But if a $150 office visit could be avoided with a quick question via text, a decent e-system can't be too far off, right?
