How has your advisor chosen to communicate with you?

He uses everything: email, phone calls, stuff that comes in the mail. He's very proactive when it comes to communicating. He'll even text me if it's something really important. He's very into staying in touch with his clients. Honestly, I sometimes wish he wouldn't send me so much stuff!

Our advisor is kind of old-fashioned. He has a small practice, mostly just family and friends really, so he doesn't have a lot of expensive computers and jazzy equipment. If he needs to get in touch with us, he just calls. And we prefer it that way, really. With him, we know we're not just a number.

My wife and I found a married couple who work together. He's the advisor, and she does all of the client management and runs the office. It seems to work really well for them. They host a client dinner every quarter, and we try to go if we're in town. They feed us a nice meal and tell us about updates in the market and give us other information. They said they wanted to really get to know their clients. We have met some nice people there, too. It's a lot of fun.

He has a website we can visit and where we can log on to our account. It's handy if we ever just need to see how we're doing or if we're concerned about something. This is where he can leave messages for us, which my husband checks regularly. Of course, if it's something urgent, he'll just give us a call or send an email.
