Are you making good use of new technology?

If so, we want to hear about it. And then we want to share it with everybody else.

Are apps making your job easier? Do you use an iPad to show sales illustrations when meeting with clients? Or are you meeting with clients virtually, via Skype? Does social media help fill your pipeline of prospects? Are e-signatures and e-policy delivery speeding up the underwriting process?

We'll be devoting most of the April issue of Life Insurance Selling to technology, and as part of our coverage, we want to show how progressive producers are using newer tools to make them more efficient in their daily routines.

Email your technology tips to me at [email protected], and you may well end up seeing them appear in an article on this website and the April magazine. Tell us what you're doing and how it has improved your practice.

Plenty of your less tech-savvy colleagues out there still need some convincing, and what could be more compelling than real examples from producers who are reaping the benefits of these tools? Explain to them how it's not difficult or expensive to implement many of these things and that it really can speed things up, help illustrate concepts to customers or keep the prospect pipeline filled.

In the April issue (and on LifeHealthPro.com in March), we'll also have content dedicated to the best new apps for producers, how producers can safely use social media, analysis from LIMRA about how producers are using technology, and our Producer Roundtable, where three tech-y producers will share how they've embraced modern tools and what it's done for their successful practices.

Few would say life insurance producers as a group are ahead of the technology curve or have even kept up. Today's consumers, however, have gotten used to tech-enabled service, and they want it from this industry just as they expect it everywhere else. We want to help more producers bridge the technology gap. Help us out by emailing your tips to me, or share them immediately via the comment tool below.
