Prudential Financial has been named one of GI Jobs Magazine's Top 100 Military Friendly Employers for a third consecutive year.

According to a joint survey conducted by Prudential and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, finding a job is the greatest challenge that veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. This remains true even with rampant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Prudential was recognized because of its Veterans Initiative which strives to help veterans prepare for life outside of the military. Programs that help facilitate this process include career fairs, transition workshops and other more focused efforts that work to recruit veterans to work for Prudential itself.

Prudential also supports veterans through VETnet, an internal business resource forum that works to promote the professional development of employees.

In addition to the aforementioned efforts Prudential also provides an online course that helps hiring managers, rather than veterans. The course looks to highlight the value that veterans bring to the table through their experiences while helping hiring managers and co-workers increase their cultural awareness of employees with military experience.

"At Prudential, recruiting veterans and training them to apply their skills in new meaningful careers is an integral part of our broader talent management strategy," said Toni McDaniel, a director with Prudential's diversity recruiting.
