Did you know it's "National Save for Retirement Week?" The aim is to prepare Americans for retirement, but judging from recent survey findings, much education needs to be done. For instance, half of Americans are not saving for their golden years. Even if their workplace offers a 401(k) plan, a majority don't contribute. The situation is even more acute for women. The plan for many is simply to work longer, into their 70s and possibly their 80s.
