October's solid jobs report — and what it means for the presidential race

The last jobs report before the election indicates the economy is picking up momentum after periods of growth and setbacks. The solid 171,000 jobs added in October added to the praise President Obama received last week for his response to Hurricane Sandy. Despite the jobs added, the jobless rate did increase from 7.8 to 7.9 percent in October, which could help Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign. In the end, an economy that is showing signs of growth benefits both campaigns.
