Everywhere you look these days is another reminder of how poorly the economy is doing. But oblivious to all of the reminders is the U.S. stock market. Through Oct. 23, the stock market has outpaced Treasuries, commodities, and European and Asian stocks. Only by a narrow margin did high-yield bonds do better.
