Median income fell last year. Which states were hit the hardest?

Recently released Census data indicates that household incomes fell across much the of U.S. last year. Yet some states were hit harder, with coastal states and those in the Great Lakes region experiencing the steepest drops. Beyond the numbers, these results could have an impact on the upcoming presidential election. Four of the so-called battleground statesFlorida, Ohio, North Carolina and Nevadaare on the declining-income list. Which state is doing the best? Vermont.
