Digital Insurance acquired Strategic Benefit Solutions of Raleigh, N.C., which merged with the local office of Digital Benefit Advisors (DBA), a division of Digital Insurance. Strategic Benefit Solutions President Henry D. Stewart joins the team.
Last year TriSure Benefit Advisors and BCT, formerly Carolina Benefit Plans, of Raleigh combined forces under the DBA banner.

Conning, Inc. appointed Brian M. Baczyk as chief data officer.
Baczyk oversees Conning's data governance and has oversight for data management initiatives across the company's investment centers in the U.S., Europe and Asia. His responsibilities will encompass establishing and reinforcing company-wide data policies and standards, with the goal to increase efficiencies across all business groups and act as an advocate for data quality.
Baczyk joins Conning after more than 19 years as an institutional investing consultant for institutional investors and clients including AIG, Vanguard, Aetna, Inc. and MassMutual. He previously served as investment officer of Quantitative Research at Aetna where his responsibilities includeded research and the implementation of valuation methods for fixed income securities and equity markets, quantitative asset allocation, and the design and implementation of portfolio management analytic tools. As manager of Equity Investment Systems at Aetna, he had oversight for systems development and maintenance and the selection for all investment and administrative systems.
He has a bachelor's in Political Science/Computer Science and a master's in Economics/Finance from Trinity College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Based at Conning's headquarters in Hartford, Baczyk will report to Jim Romano, chief risk officer.
