Unless you're Rain Man, chances are you can't calculate tons of complicated formulas in your head. At least, not if you want to come up with the right answer anyway. So what do you do when you're out having coffee with a client and he asks about the benefits of one investment over another? Sure, you could go all the way back to your office and hash out the details. Or you could just pull up one of these apps and order another round.

This app bills itself as a "personal financial planner in your pocket," and that's actually pretty accurate. The app lets users view and chart year-by-year financial simulations of their income, expenses, assets, taxes and debt. The app can also organize and itemize expenses, calculate retirement savings, and project any taxes and penalties. The "Can I Afford It?" feature helps users decide whether moves like quitting a job, retiring early or going back to college are financially do-able.
