The New York Life Foundation has declared a three-year $300,000 grant to Inwood House. The grant is to be utilized through educational services that will help approximately 300 pregnant and parenting youth in New York City.
The Inwood House was established in 1830 and has been at the forefront of assisting disenfranchised teens become productive adults through myriad programs.
One of the first agencies to acknowledge and attempt to remedy intergenerational poverty in New York City, Inwood House has focused on child abuse and the neglect that is "empirically linked to teenage pregnancy."
