The Montana State University Extension program has worked with state government officials to create a fact sheet for Montana residents who are considering participating in the state's long-term care (LTC) partnership program.
A partnership program gives participants who exhaust private long-term care insurance (LTCI) benefits and apply for Medicaid nursing home benefits the ability to keep some assets and still qualify for Medicaid.
Experts have estimated that about 70% of state residents ages 65 and older will need some LTC during their lifetime, university extension officials say.
