The first version of a new Schwab Advisor Center app for the iPhone will launch now that a successful pilot is complete, Charles Schwab announced Thursday.

Independent investment advisors who custody assets with Schwab Advisor Services can now download the mobile app to view their clients' account balances, positions and transactions.

"This first version of the new Schwab Advisor Center app for iPhone includes the features that advisors told us they wanted most," said Steve Hirsch, vice president of institutional web services for Charles Schwab, in a statement. "We have heard that the top priority is fast and convenient access to client account information so advisors can stay informed and on top of their business no matter where they are."

The mobile app is part of an effort to deliver Schwab Advisor Center data where and how advisors need it, according to the company. The center's app for iPad is currently under development and will be available to advisors before the end of the year.

Additionally, advisors' clients who want access to their accounts can use Schwab's mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, as well as Schwab's mobile website to keep up with their accounts and to access features like Schwab Mobile Deposit.

"Our app for the iPhone was well received in pilot," Hirsch said, "and we're listening closely to the feedback we get from advisors and will continue to make enhancements to the app as more clients begin to use it and identify other services they would like to access."
