I always hear that life insurance producers are a competitive lot. Well, have I got a nice little competition for you in the form of our "Big Idea" contest: Share the most innovative way you promote life insurance in your community, and you could very well walk away the proud owner of a new iPad — and be featured in the September issue of Life Insurance Selling.

Most times you enter a contest with a chance of winning something like an iPad, you're running up against hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of other entrants. Not in this contest. You may never have better odds — especially if your idea is a dandy.

With September being Life Insurance Awareness Month, we're looking to do our part by facilitating the sharing of great ideas producers like you are using to promote your practice within your community or to help people realize the need for life insurance coverage. The more good ideas we can share, the more other producers will use them, resulting in the greater goal of creating awareness among consumers.

But the time you have to enter this contest is running out — entries must be submitted by July 10. Just visit this simple contest entry page and provide your idea in 250 words or less. Only catch? It must be an idea you are actively using to promote your business — a condition that will be verified for finalists. Speaking of finalists, all the entries will be narrowed down to a few finalists, which will then be voted on by our audience to determine the winner. Many of the best ideas will be featured in the September issue of Life Insurance Selling and on LifeHealthPro.com.

And even if you don't win the contest, every entry is eligible for a random drawing for a $100 American Express gift card. So c'mon  — you know your idea is better than Fred's in Tallahassee. You're not afraid of a little competition, are you?
