To commemorate Mother's Day, WholesaleInsurance.net, the Roseville, Calif.-based provider of life insurance quotes has launched a Mother's Day campaign to promote awareness of the financial contribution mothers provide and underscore the life insurance coverage gap that women in the county fall victim to.

Traditionally, many mothers were stay-at-home moms and did not feel compelled to purchase life insurance because they were not bringing home income that the family depended on. Even that antiquated reasoning appears flawed as today's 5 million stay-at-home moms provide services to the family that one estimate places at an annual value of $94,700 a year.

Women now comprise 49% of the U.S. labor force and 26% are the main breadwinners, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics Study. There is a strong disconnect, however, with 43 percent of women owning no life insurance whatsoever. Too many families are operating under the flawed logic that women do not need life insurance, especially if they don't work outside of the home.

WholesaleInsurance.net hopes to alleviate the coverage gap with the Mother's Day Campaign on their website with a Mother's Day infographic: "How Much is Your Mom Worth? They also have formulated a Mother's Day Calculator where you can find out, "down to the nickel" the worth of your mother.
